You connect the place where the documents already live, with read access your IT team grants once. The assistant imports the documents, and a sync later picks up only what is new or changed. Nothing has to be exported or copied by hand.
Which sources can be connected?
- A Confluence space.
- A SharePoint or OneDrive document library.
- A Google Drive folder.
- A single shared link, for one document or folder that is shared with you.
- Files and folders uploaded directly, for anything that lives nowhere in particular.
What access does the connection need?
- Read access to the space, library or folder, nothing more.
- Your IT team grants it once, usually in a few minutes.
- Credentials are stored encrypted and verified before the connection is saved.
How does the assistant stay up to date?
- A sync compares the source with what is already imported and picks up only what is new or changed.
- Documents removed from the source lose their passages in the knowledge base.
- Pages of an imported website that did not change are skipped on the next import.
Does the assistant keep copies of the files?
- No. The text is extracted into passages and the file is discarded.
- The passages are the knowledge base. Deleting a document or a source deletes its passages immediately.
- Your logo is the exception: it is kept as a file so the widget can show it.
Can I connect several sources at once?
- Yes. One knowledge base can hold a website, uploaded files and several connected sources.
- Each answer cites the document it came from, so you can see which source is doing the work.
- If two sources hold the same document, remove one. Duplicates do not improve answers.
